Laurel K. Lackey joined Martin & Seibert, L.C. in 2008 as
an associate attorney. Her practice is primarily concentrated in the area of collections.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Lackey worked for the City of Charleston, WV where
she was an Assistant City Attorney. While in this position, she worked with the
City Collector to collect unpaid fire and refuse fees as well as unpaid business
and occupation taxes. She also worked as one of the city prosecutors in municipal
court. Ms. Lackey has also worked for a Fortune 500 company handling a variety
of complex financial transactions.
Ms. Lackey is a native
of Washington, D.C., but spent the majority of her childhood in Summersville WV.
She graduated with honors from Transylvania University with a degree in Political
Science in 2002. She continued her education at the West Virginia University College
of Law where she graduated in 2005. While in law school, Ms. Lackey was active
in student government and completed an internship with the Twenty-Eighth Judicial
Circuit of West Virginia.
Ms. Lackey is admitted to practice
before the Court of Appeals of Maryland, the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals,
and the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
