Mr.
Paul Burns practices primarily in the areas of Litigation and Subrogation
and also has extensive experience in Estate Planning, Real Estate,
and Taxation.
His past work includes creating and managing a
trial counsel program for Nationwide Insurance Company, consulting
work for Amtrak, solo practice, and a partnership with a private
practice firm in Northern Virginia.
During his legal career in Virginia, in addition
to the demands of his practice, Mr. Burns taught classes at a local
law school and community college and lectured for the Lincoln Center
for Legal Studies. During this period, Mr. Burns also served as
Acting City Attorney for Falls Church, advisor to the Local Selective
Service Board and Board of Appeals and was a member of the Advisory
Board to the Northern Virginia Association of Retarded Citizens.
Mr. Burns is a veteran of the United States Marine
Corps, having enlisted as an infantryman in 1968 after receiving
a draft notice on the day of his graduation from law school. During
his two years in the Marine Corps, he served a tour in Vietnam and
was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal with combat device.
