Allison
A. Marquina has been with the firm since 2002. With an emphasis on research and
writing, she practices mainly in the area of insurance defense. Before joining
Martin & Seibert, L.C, Ms. Marquina completed judicial clerkships in both St.
Mary’s and Washington County, Maryland. She has also practiced as a general practitioner,
concentrating in the areas of personal injury, bankruptcy and domestic relations.
Ms. Marquina’s research and writing abilities have served
as a vital resource to Martin & Seibert, L.C. clients during the course of litigation.
Her skills have proven to be particularly useful in a judicial climate where a
successful motions practice is becoming increasingly important. Ms.
Marquina has an extensive teaching background and was an adjunct instructor in
the Paralegal Studies Department at Shepherd University Community and Technical
College. Prior to this she was an adjunct assistant professor in the Law and Public
Policy Department at the University of Maryland, University College from 1995
to 1999, and an adjunct instructor in the Legal Assistant Program at Hagerstown
Business College from 2001 to 2003. In addition to her insurance
defense work, Ms. Marquina coordinates the Martin & Seibert, L.C. Law Clerks Program.
She recruits, hires and advises summer law clerks who work for the firm. Ms. Marquina
has a strong dedication to the local community, displayed through her involvement
as a board member of the United Way of the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.
Ms. Marquina is admitted to practice before the West Virginia
Supreme Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Northern District
of West Virginia, the United States District Court for the Southern District of
West Virginia, the Court of Appeals of Maryland, the United States District Court
for the District of Maryland, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth
Circuit and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. |
