Erin
Hillary Preston joins the Martin & Seibert, L.C. Collections Practice,
leading the firm's collections work in Virginia. Ms. Preston comes
to the firm after serving as the Deputy Town Attorney for the town
of Leesburg, VA.
While working in Leesburg, Ms. Preston acted as
legal counsel to the town's Planning Commission and the Board of
Architectural Review. She advised staff as well as the town's boards
and commissions on all legal issues. She was specifically active
in the areas of land use, contracts, litigation, aviation, employment
and utilities.
While studying law at Stetson University in St.
Petersburg, FL, Ms. Preston completed a clerkship at the United
States Attorney's Office for the middle district of Florida. She
also worked for the law firm of Holcomb and Mayts in Tampa. During
her final semester at Stetson, Ms. Preston researched local government
issues, working in the Pinelllas County Attorney's Office. She was
also a member of the legal honorary Phi Delta Phi.
Ms. Preston is actively involved in community and
non-profit programs. She has raised $5,000 for the Leukemia and
Lymphoma society and run in two marathons to support the cause.
She spent the 2004 tax season with VITA [Voluntary Income Tax Assistance],
preparing tax reports for low income residents of Pinellas County,
Florida. Ms. Preston enjoys cooking, running and loves to root on
the Gators of the University of Florida. Ms.
Preston is admitted to practice in all courts for
the State of Virginia.
