Martinsburg,
23 January 2003 - Martin & Seibert, L.C. is pleased to congratulate
Clarence E. Martin, III on his inclusion in the 2003 Edition of Who�s
Who in America. Admitted in
West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia, Mr.
Martin practices in the areas of insurance coverage issues, insurance
defense litigation, electric utility litigation, railroad defense
litigation (FELA), products liability, medical malpractice defense, toxic
tort, and asbestos defense litigation in state and federal trial and
appellate courts. He also lobbies for various interests, including
insurance, litigation and civil justice reform issues.
Combined
with nearly thirty years of legal experience, Mr. Martin has a
longstanding commitment to the community and his home state of West
Virginia. He has filled
leadership positions that have included the following:
Member of the West Virginia House of Delegates from 1976-1982;
Commissioner on the U.S. Commission on Agricultural Workers from
1988-1992; President of the West Virginia Bar Association in 1991-1992;
National Board of the American Board of Trial Advocates from 1986 to 1994;
Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia, Board of Directors 1984-1992,
Board of Directors of F & M Bank � Martinsburg; Member, National
Association of Railroad Trial Counsel; Board of Directors of the National
Parks and Conservation Association; Board of Directors of Shenandoah Gas;
Board of Advisors for Shepherd College serving as its Chair from 1990 to
1992 and 1995 to 1997.
In 1992 he was appointed to serve on the
West Virginia Council for Community and Economic Development, which
develops and directs the State�s economic development programs and was
elected its Secretary and served until 1995. He also chaired the West
Virginia Economic Development Foundation and the West Virginia Economic
Development Corporation, which are authorized by the Council as private
funding corporations for the State�s economic development programs. He
serves as President of the Discover the REAL West Virginia Foundation,
which works on economic development and international trade with U.S.
Senator John D. Rockefeller, IV. He
is also Chairman of the Berkeley County Roundhouse Authority, which is
restoring a historic railroad property.
He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Holy Family
Hospital Foundation, which is the only hospital to provide neo-natal care
in Bethlehem, Palestine. He
is also a member of the John Carroll Society and a director of the
Washington Chapter of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums.
In 2000, Mr. Martin was invested in the Order of Malta as a Knight
of Magisterial Grace. This is one of the highest honors a Catholic layman
can receive in recognition of service to the church, community, and his
profession.

Martinsburg, 22 August 2002 - Martin & Seibert,
L.C. is pleased to announce that Andrea J. Hinerman has joined the firm
and will work from its Charles Town, West Virginia, office. Andrea
received both her undergraduate degree and Doctor of Jurisprudence from
West Virginia University. She spent the last four years as a law
clerk at the state and federal level.
Andrea will work primarily in area of litigation with an
emphasis on insurance law.

Martinsburg, 15 August 2002 - The
West Virginia law firm Martin & Seibert, L.C. celebrated today the
opening of its Charleston, West Virginia office.
The new office, located in the BB&T building on Summers Street,
opened with two attorneys and will expand.
Martin
& Seibert, L.C. has practiced law in West Virginia continuously for
ninety-four years, predominantly in the Northern District, as well as in
surrounding states. The new
Charleston office will enhance the firm�s ability to serve its clients
in the Southern part of the state and will compliment its other offices in
Martinsburg and Charles Town, West Virginia, as well as its offices in
Winchester, Virginia, and Hagerstown, Maryland.

need for this new office has existed for some time.
We are delighted with the response of our clients to this new
location. With the expansion
of lobbying services being provided, and the representation of the U.S.
Chamber of Commerce by Clarence E. Martin, III, we wanted to solidify our

Michelle
R. Fox will manage the new office. She
brings with her a wealth of litigation experience, particularly in the areas
of civil defense litigation, insurance law, employment law, and personal
injury law. Her experience also includes wrongful death, toxic tort and
wrongful discharge and discrimination cases.
Michelle will focus on class action defense and mulit-district and
mass tort litigation.
Lisa
L. Lilly joins Ms. Fox. Lisa
has extensive experience in the defense and management of medical issue
litigation and will practice primarily in the area of catastrophic losses
and extra-contractual liability.

Martinsburg, 28 June 2002 - The United Way of
Berkeley and Morgan Counties honored Martin & Seibert, L.C. at its
Annual Meeting and Volunteer Recognition Breakfast, which was held
yesterday at the Holiday Inn.
Martin & Seibert employees donated more money
towards the local 2001 United Way Campaign than any other business in the
Profession Services category, which includes law firms and accounting
firms, thus earning the honor.
Attorneys Chris Wilson, Susan Snowden and Dale Buck
were also honored individually for their volunteer efforts during last
year's campaign, which brought in over $400,000 dollars for local
non-profit organizations. |
